The FINANCIAL -- Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense bloc faction at the Verkhovna Rada has no intention of quitting a coalition it forms with the parliamentary faction of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko and the Bloc of Lytvyn, Mykola Martynenko, the chairman of the OU-PSD faction, has announced to the press.
The MP says on Tuesday morning the faction convoked for a working meeting, where they considered only issues of the parliament agenda and not the probability of building a new coalition at the Rada.
"We are not going to run away from this coalition," he remarked.
Martynenko emphasised, after official outcome of the presidential election is announced the faction would discuss its further actions within the parliament with the partners-in-coalition.
He says the main task at this stage is internal consolidation of the OU-PSD faction, as the faction unites MPs from 12 different political parties.
"In this case I am the faction's moderator, to find an optimal solution to enable our living together," he said.
The lawmaker supposes he will succeed in getting a positive result and consolidate on a common stance 50 or 60 members of the faction.
Martynenko notes, the OU-PSD is not in talks with the Party of Regions faction on shaping a fresh coalition.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Party of Regions announced their plans to initiate formation of a new coalition to pass a package of bailout bills.
The party plans to start official negotiations about a coalition only after the Central Electoral Commission declares final results of the presidential election.
MP Mykhailo Polianchych of OU-PSD assures, the Party of Regions is already leading informal coalition talks, including with the OU-PSD.
