The FINANCIAL -- The Australian Department of
Defence has awarded Accenture a five-year contract as the
Department’s Human Resources Applications Managed Service partner.
According to Accenture, it will provide strategic consulting, operations and process design, as well as application development, maintenance and support for the Department of Defence, including the development and integration of new applications across the Department’s human resources function.
The HR redesign and implementation program will enable the Department to integrate and manage modern payroll capabilities for defense force personnel and Australian public service employees, as well as manage recruitment, deployment, job postings and resource allocations.
The Department awarded Accenture the contract as a result of the company’s extensive global defence and private-sector credentials and its unique ability to deliver diverse projects with significant complexity. Accenture has previous experience in executing large-scale transformational programs for the Australian government.
The Australia contract is the latest in a series of wins for Accenture’s global defence business including the Norwegian Armed Forces, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency.
