Georgia Participated on One Young World Inaugural Summit London 2010

Press-Release via finchannel.com --- On March 2, 2010, at 11:00, in the in the II Block of Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Small Conference Hall, basic facts and outcomes of One Young World Inaugural Summit will be presented by the Georgian Delegate Tengiz Lomitashvili, who participated in the London Summit in the name of Georgia. This participation was promoted, organized and facilitated by ICC-Georgia and sponsored by Bank Republic and Brain Source International.

One Young World, nicknamed as Young Davos, is the world's first global youth leadership summit. The inaugural London summit took place on Feb. 8-10, 2010.  More than 1000 delegates from more than 100 countries, most of them aged 25 and under, were attending. 


One Young World is a platform to engage and inspire the 25 year olds of today - the decision makers of tomorrow. It will help them to adopt a position of leadership on the challenges facing the world today and in the future. The Plenary Sessions was chaired by leading public figures who have agreed to be One Young World Counselors- international luminaries such as Kofi Annan and Sir Bob Geldof, Nobel Peace Prize Laureates - Muhammad Yunus and Archbishop Desmond Tutu and many others.


Through six sessions, the summit participants voted for six resolutions concerning environment protection, poverty reduction, role of media, healthcare agenda, interfaith dialogue, politics and leadership.


“Considering the very high profile of this event, we thought that it would be unacceptable if Georgia would not be represented by one of its brilliant youngsters, and therefore we mobilized our efforts to make it happen, our thanks go to  Mikhail Lelashvili and Gilbert Hie who made it possible” said Fady Asly Chairman of the Board of ICC-Georgia.


The agenda includes:  Introductory remarks by the organizers


∙         Welcome speeches - 4-5 minutes by the sponsors and Students Union Chair
∙         Presentation and a movie - 15-20
∙         Questions and answers
