Aviva Investors in London appoints Jiten Joshi to head new team of credit analysts

The FINANCIAL -- Aviva Investors announced on March 8 that it has appointed Jiten Joshi as Head of Knowledge Services to lead a new team of analysts to support the London-based credit team.

The new capability, which is based in Mumbai, India, will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the London team’s well-established fundamental credit research capabilities both in investment grade and high yield as well as providing technical and risk analysis. In addition to managing the India-based research ream, Jiten will contribute to the development of absolute return capabilities for London managed products, focusing on special situations within the entire capital structure.

 

Jiten joins Aviva Investors from Pali Capital where he was director, special situations. Previously he has held positions at ABN Amro where he co-managed the US exposure of a global credit proprietary trading desk, Gartmore Global Investments and JP Morgan Fleming. He reports to Mark Wauton, head of credit, Aviva Investors in London.

 

Mark Wauton, said: “Jiten’s arrival and the creation of this research team are important steps in the continued build-out of the skills necessary to develop a market leading platform including our ambitions to deliver absolute return capabilities. This can only be seen a positive for clients as we are building and improving on existing systems to add increased sophistication to our investment processes.

 

“In Jiten and the rest of the team, we have added significant experience to our analytics capability in the technical and risk space by bringing highly talented individuals who are also familiar with long/short trade ideas.

 

“We expect that having a team who can conduct analysis in time for the European market open by virtue of its location, will add a real competitive advantage.”

 

There are currently six people in the India-based research team.
