Wissol Awarded for Being largest Employer among Oil Importers

The FINANCIAL -- From 15 nominations by The Union of Oil Products Enterprisers, Importers and Customers Wissol, one of the largest company in Georgia has taken 5 diplomas.

Wissol is the biggest employer in the Georgian oil sector, it is also the largest operator in terms of the number of petrol and CNG service stations. Company was awarded for Building Multifunctional Complex, for the Contribution to Sport Development and for Implementation of Important Social Projects.

“Wissol operates widest chain of petrol and CNG service stations with 105 in total”, said Soso Pkhakadze, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC Wissol Petroleum Georgia.  “This mobility and flexibility creates additional comfort for our customers”.

“Wissol has a growth in all parameters in 2011 including the sales. This increase is a reflection of the positive economic developments that took place in 2011. The developing process continues in 2012 as well”, Pkhakadze said.

“With more then 3000 employees Wissol Group is the biggest employer in the Georgian oil sector. I would single out this nomination as one of the most important awards,” said Pkhakadze.
“Wissol makes millions of social investments. Group invested up to 25 Million GEL indevelopment of Georgian sport,” said Tornike Guruli, Marketing Director. “This amount of money was spent on developing of football club Torpedo-Kutaisi, children’s school Avaza, four sports complex in Tbilisi , fitnnes center Laguna Kutaisi and children’s football academy,” he added.

“With supporting of sport development Wissol was involved in building and reconstruction of orthodox churches and in assistance for vulnerable families. Since its inception fund Iavnana with Wissol Group bought flats to 62 families and more then 800 children,” he added.

Wissol was awarded at National Business Award Mercury in 2011 as well. In the category of  People’s Choice Mr. Soso Pkhakadze was named as the entrepreneur of the year. “When competent persons see the success of the company it is always very pleasant. This gives us the incentive to create more and to achieve greater success. Every year we are awarded in several nominations and this year was no exception,” said Pkhakadze.

As the chairmen said the company has been developing dynamically during 2011. Last year two new subsidiary companies were added to the group. These companies are supermarket network Smart and auto service centre Wissol Auto Express.

 

Nowadays, Smart has already has 5 supermarket chains, two of them in Tbilisi and others in Kvareli, Gori and Marneuli. As for Auto Express, 12 auto centers operate all over Georgia. Beside, Wissol Group successfully sells exclusive products such as motor oils and lubricants and vulcanization full service from French company Total and its subsidiary company Fina.

 

Wissol launched recreational and service complex at the highway Gori section. Wissol branded CNG and petrol stations, Wissol AutoExperss service center offering French Total lubricants, supermarket Smart with wide choice of products, fast food restaurant Smart-cafe and parking zone for trucks, busses and cars are located at the complex.

 

“Besides Wissol decided to restore the tradition and created the corner for agricultural products giving the local people opportunity to sell their fruits and vegetables on roadside in comfortable conditions,” said Pkhakdaze.

 

In 2011 Wissol has become an exclusive partner of international network of petrol stations AS24. Throughout the Caucasus transit carriers are able to buy fuel in Wissol gas stations by AS24cards. “As for AS24 serves lots of international carriers our partnership with AS24 is profitable not only for Wissol but for developing Georgia’s economy, as freight transportation will continue to increase,” he added.

 

Wissol Group’s subsidiary company Wissol Gas Distribution completed gasification in 17 villages of Telavi region, in 2011. Nowadays, about 12000 families have an opportunity to use natural gas.
